0% Interest Assistance for Qualifying Energy Efficiency Projects
HG&E’s Residential Energy Conservation Program can provide homeowners with the money they need to make energy-saving improvements to their homes. This program provides financial assistance at 0% interest for the implementation of approved energy efficient measures. Financial assistance is repayable over a period of up to five years and repayment charges are conveniently placed on your HG&E monthly bill. A one-time processing fee of $100 does apply. The maximum level of assistance per property type is as follows:
• Single Family Homes: Up to $10,000
• Owner Occupied, Multi-Family Properties:
o Properties with two units: Up to $15,000
o Properties with 3-4 units: Up to $20,000

Solar Photovoltaic (PV) | Up to $10,000 - Note that solar financial assistance is available in addition to assistance for energy efficient home improvements, but maximum outstanding assistance granted to a customer is capped at a total of $10,000. Assistance for Solar-PV is only granted to customers who provide documentation that they shall own such system. |
*Additional Requirements for gas projects:
• Input capacity of new system must be less than or equal to input capacity of current system
• Must have valid gas permit ID
• Customer must complete any required upgrades to gas service as determined by HG&E
• Customer must confirm natural gas is available for the project prior to starting work
