New Customers

Welcome to your new residence or business facility. HG&E will work to make the process of setting up utility service quick and easy.
 

If your location already has an electric or natural gas meter:
If your new location was previously receiving electric or natural gas service from HG&E, visit our customer service department at 99 Suffolk Street in Downtown Holyoke.

We can setup a new account in your name and will work to have your electricity and/or gas service turned on as quickly as possible. New customers that have not previously received service from HG&E will need to supply a government issued form of photo identification (e.g. Driver’s License) and will be required to sign an application form. New commercial class customer accounts may require a service deposit.

If your location was not previously receiving electric service from HG&E:
Your builder or electrician will need to complete the New Electric Service Application linked below so that we may install the proper wiring and meter at your location. Once the proper electrical connection has been made to your structure, you can visit our customer service department at 99 Suffolk Street in Downtown Holyoke to set-up a new account.

If your location was not previously receiving natural gas service from HG&E:
Congratulations on choosing to heat your home or business with clean-burning natural gas. Provided that there is a gas main outside your home, installation is just a phone call away. New natural gas service customers receive the following:

- free installation of service line to house (up to a $1500 value)
- interest free assistance up to $5,000 under our Homeowner’s Assistance Program
